Prayer Book for iPhone and iPod Touch
October 2nd, 2008 Arash Posted in iPhone |
My first iPhone app has just been posted to the iTunes app store. It’s called Prayer Book and it contains 231 English prayers from the Writings of the Bahá’í Faith. They’re organized by categories and you can bookmark your favorite prayers for easy access as well. I’ll be updating the program over time with new features and prayer translations, and eventually I’d like to have all the Writings of the Bahá’í Faith in there.
It’s available for free on the iTunes store, so go ahead and take it for a spin.

Dear Arash, I am eternally grateful for your prayer application. No words can express my gratitude. Thank you so much.
With infinite love,
Nathalie
p.s. if you develop any other Bahai applications, how can i find out?

@Nathalie
Thank you for the kind words, Nathalie. For now, all my spare coding time will be placed into adding features to the Prayer Book app for the iPhone/iPod. However, if I do end up developing additional apps, I’ll put a link up on the front page of my website and make a blog posting about it.
Best,
Arash

Dear Arash,
Thanks for this great service. Since I got my phone I have been looking for apps with the Writings. I was getting so desperate that I was considering learning how to code. :D
Thanks again and I will have to say some prayers in repayment.

thank you so much for this app!!!
I know so many people who have been looking for something like this!!
Cannot wait to have all the Writings (and maybe more - like ocean) available on my iPhone!
Seriously, thank you.
Can you code a decent compass? Ipray has one that is pretty interesting, or just something for when we travel?

fabulous! I am really grateful for this project, Arash. I will use it to work on memorization during my commute.

Dear Arash,
I really am impressed for what you have put together. Do you know how that application can be of use for ipods in general. I have an Ipod and that application would be awsome for me to carry around. Of course I want the iphone, but if you can let me know that would be amazing.

@roxanne
I’ve looked into the compass idea, but due to current limitations with the iPhone and iPod touch, I can’t make a compass that’s anymore impressive than the one in the iPray app.
@allison
Glad it helps. :-)
@layla
Unfortunately, it doesn’t work on any of the non-touch iPods, but I hope to port the app to other (non-Apple) platforms in the future.
Peace,
Arash

Great job! I am so glad to get this application in my iPhone. Hopefully I will be able to get it in Chinese version in future. Xie xie
